Nestled between the gentle hills of Florence and Siena, where cypress-lined roads wind through sun-kissed vineyards stretching to the horizon, sits a place where history and modernity coexist in perfect harmony: Il Borgo di Vignamaggio.
With a legacy spanning over 600 years, this historic estate has blossomed into one of Tuscany’s most captivating destinations—a true celebration of timeless beauty, rich tradition, and elegant festivities.
A Heritage of Sophistication
Vignamaggio’s history runs through centuries, having welcomed medieval commanders, visionary artists, noble lineages, and celebrated intellectuals. Its former steward, Count Bino Sanminiatelli, was famed for hosting lavish soirées that attracted royalty, creatives, and leading figures of 20th-century Chianti society. This enduring tradition of celebration continues today, reimagined with elegance and refinement.
The Revival of Il Borgo
In 2015, Vignamaggio embarked on an ambitious restoration of Vitigliano di Sopra, a villa that had long been abandoned. Over seven years, ivy was carefully removed from the walls, pigeons gently relocated, and a visionary concept was brought to life: a destination devoted entirely to the art of celebration.
The result is Il Borgo—a seamless fusion of timeless charm and modern design, where every detail, from handcrafted Tuscan furnishings to the fragrant cypress-scented air, reflects a profound respect for artistry and comfort. Collaborations with distinguished Italian designers such as Viabizzuno, Davide Groppi, and Baxter ensure that each space—and every celebration—feels both luxurious and distinctly personal.
An Enchanting Venue for Gatherings
Whether planning an intimate wedding, a grand celebration, or a restorative retreat, Il Borgo provides a setting that is both cinematic and harmoniously integrated with nature. The estate accommodates up to 300 guests, featuring 17 double rooms, an 8-person dormitory, and additional nearby villas for up to 104 guests.
Event spaces include:
The Dancing Hall, complete with its own cocktail bar
A sun-drenched banquet hall and auditorium
Multiple outdoor areas for ceremonies and dinners, including La Piazza, La Pergola, La Corte, and Il Frutteto
A panoramic swimming pool with the Ridolfi Pool Bar
La Fornace, a rustic-chic pizza oven space perfect for casual gatherings
Every corner of the estate—from the frescoed breakfast room to the expansive open-air terraces—has been thoughtfully curated to inspire joy, foster meaningful connections, and create unforgettable memories.
The Art of La Dolce Vita
Il Borgo is more than just a venue—it is an experience: a rare, suspended moment where time slows, laughter drifts across sunlit vineyards, and every detail is effortlessly attended to. The estate’s dedicated team ensures a seamless, personalized experience, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the serenity and charm of the surroundings.
At Vignamaggio, luxury is never ostentatious—it resides in the warm hues, the meticulous details, the gentle whisper of olive trees, and above all, in the effortless way the estate draws you into its story.
